Having commuted by bicycle for most of her life, Tori Bortman is a passionate pedaler and gifted educator.
Prior to founding her bicycle education and empowerment company, Gracie's Wrench, she worked as a mechanic at some of the best non-niche shops in Portland; Bike Gallery and River City Cycles.
I hired Tori to teach our safety class because:
- She has decades of cycling experience
- She has spectacular communication skills
- Customers rave about her
- Quite a few customers have hired Tori outside of the safety class to follow them on a ride to brush up on their skills ($75 for a session that averages 2 hours)
Unfortunately, after being written twice in Bicycling Magazine, her time has been rather filled and difficult to book.
Our safety classes are free to customers - but because we strive to keep classes to 10 people or less (we want to make sure everyone gets their questions answered) we need folks to register.
To make sure that I continue to provide the highest quality service, I hired her from time to time to brush up on my mechanic skills - most recently to work through some difficulties I have had in truing hub motors.
