The eVelo Aries is a great bike for riding around town - especially for those who live up steep or want ride beyond pavement.
The Arie's 250 mid drive motor works with your gears in the same way the transimission works in a car. The mid drive system enables the motor to work efficiently whether you are riding downhill or on the steepest terrain. If you are riding with the throttle on full and want to go faster: Change gears and away you go.
The Aries is also a very comfortable bike. This full suspension bike features RockShox RX28 front forks, which provide 90mm of shock absorbing comfort and can be locked solid with a flick of your thumb. The rear suspension smooths out rough roads, ensuring that the spring in your step is still intact when you arrive at your destination.
Gears: the Aries comes standard with a Shimano Alevio 8 speed derailleur system which provides a wide range of gears and positive, rapid shifting. An optional upgrade ($400) you might want to consider is the Nu Vinci N360 continuously variable hub. They are in short supply for good reason. Good luck!
